Analyze and Visualize Data

Dran-View’s unique linked two-pane browser allows you to view time plots or phasors and waveforms simultaneously and interactively to quickly diagnose problems.

View Multiple Sites

Compare data from different monitoring points and sites before and after critical events.

Overlay or stack multiple parameters to detect interdependent trends, reveal details, and correlate measured phenomena.

Data Correlation

Correlate and graph all parameters of interest in overlaid, stacked, or 3D graphs. change and plot monitored and calculated parameters “on the fly.”

This type of three dimensional graph is useful when there are many parameters to be presented as a function of time.

Detailed Analysis

Dran-View’s multiple zoom levels—up to 15 times—let you zoom out to see a month’s worth of data at a time, or zoom in to see a specific millisecond of an event. Dran-View’s two-pane browser aligns the event with its specific detail for immediate analysis.

This screen demonstrates a disturbance which is marked with a yellow background.

Report Writing

Using simple wizards, in a matter of seconds, your entire power quality survey will be formatted into a professional report that will allow you to quickly determine what happened and make informed corrective decisions.

Harmonics Demo

Simulate the impact of harmonic generating loads and instantly view the effects of a harmonic filter.

Here is an example of a waveform constructed with the harmonics demo tool driver which enables the user to see how the waveform changes with various levels of harmonics and with different harmonic phase angles.

Event Classification

Event type, magnitude and duration are automatically classified according to IEEE 1159 standards.

Stacked Charts The charts can now plot data in a stacked form as well as the previous overlaid form. With stacked charts the parameters are given an individual y-axis and plot area, but are still using the same x-axis. This feature greatly improves the readability on screen and in your power quality reports.

Event Filter With the Event Filter you can remove any single event, events within a particular time-range or events of a particular type from the scope of the measurement and then do all plots and calculations as if these events had never existed. Another related new feature is the Find function, introduced in order for you to locate and step between a particular event type easily.

Style Gallery The style gallery is a collection of your own favorite chart attributes. All attributes (or styles as we prefer to call them) contains all the colors, fonts headers etc which Dran-View uses to present the data. By applying a Style, you make sure that formatting of charts will look consistent throughout the report/printouts you are producing.

Printer queue The printer queue will help you organize your printouts. When writing a PQ-report you normally want to include a large number of different printouts from one or many different files. The printer queue works like a store where you collect the printouts without actually printing them until you are ready. Within the queue you can organize the print order and also assign predefined attributes from a template in the Style Gallery.

Peak/Worst Case Reports Produce a page with peak and worst case data for your report. Highlighting phase with highest distortion.

Harmonic Demo Tool The Demo Tool demonstrates harmonics theory in suitable way for education. The data shown has nothing to do with the actual document file you have loaded. You have possibility to add separate phase amplitudes for the three phases and also add separate harmonic components with possibility to change the phase angle for each component. In the screen you can observe the 3 phases and how the harmonics affects the neutral line. A Hold function makes it possible to freeze and compare two different setups at the same time.

32-Bit Application Now, being a true 32-bit application, computations are carried out much more quickly and due to the better memory management, larger files can be handled with ease.

Two-Pane Browser

The ultimate in simultaneous parameter viewing. The left pane plots up to 20 parameters and eight channels. The right pane details waveform events and descriptive disturbance analysis text. Either pane can be displayed as full screen. You can always zoom in on any pane for a closer look.

Report-Writer Wizard

When in Dran-View, simply select Report Writer from the pull-down menu and the Report-Writer Wizard will prepare your report. Customized options such as power quality parameters and flow, as event list, and an analyzer set-up are easily implemented. You preview your report on screen and save it as an RTF file for import into most word processing software programs.

Pull-Down Event List

The event list displays all the events recorded by the analyzer and makes it easy to identify the type of disturbance quickly. Channels are color-coded with the time and date stamp. Click on the selected event and the waveform appears instantly in the right pane.

Worst Case Summary Report

Dran-View accelerates your analysis by presenting a worst case summary report for any monitored parameter and channel for the entire survey period. Zoom in on a selected time range and the report automatically changes to the same period.

View Multiple Sites

Being able to compare before and after data, as well as different monitored locations, is critical to power analysis Dran-View even lets you view data from different Dranetz-BMI analyzers at the same time.

Timeplot Chart Setup

Changing and plotting monitored parameters on the fly is just one of the ease-of-use features in Dran-View. The Window-type dialog box allows easy point and click selection of any channel or parameter. Plot parameter vs. parameter to see how they compare to each other over the monitoring period. Experience the power of flexible analysis.

Stacked Diagrams

Harmonic currents are presented with the Y axis scaled or the best possible resolution.

Use separate graphs to show how the harmonics vary during a dip or sag.

Flicker Measurements

The graph to the right shows a flicker measurement taken over a twenty-four hour period with several different flicker parameters on different axis.

Flicker direction can also be tracked to find the source of the problem.

Legacy Dranetz Products

Dranetz-808, Dranetz 8000 and 8000-2, and PP1 with TASKCard 8000
Dran-View can now read *.dnv, *.mdb, *.TXT, *.21, *.28, *.29B reports from Dranetz-808, Dranetz 8000, Dranetz 8000-2 and PP1 with TASKCard 8000 and display the time-plot data.

Former BMI instruments PQPager, 3100, 7100, 9010/9020
Dran-View can now read PES databases and visualize the data. For 9010/20 Dran-View is limited to 8 waveform channels even though the database may contain up to 16 waveform channels.

Industry-leading Power Platform 4300 and PP1 instruments
(including Inrush & Flicker TASKCards)
Dran-View can read *.MIR and *.INR files. Time-plot parameters are calculated on a cycle-per-cycle basis from the captured waveforms and gives you possibility to display Vrms, Irms, Vpeak, Ipeak, W, VA, VAR, PF, Hz, Vthd%, Ithd%, VthdAbs, IthdAbs as well as Harmonic timeplots.

8-channel Dranetz-BMI 658 instruments
(for advanced users, including GHA file)
The File-Append feature (combining several measurement files into one), now supports the 658 databases. This feature should only be used with files having the same Volts or Amps channel setup.

Signature System Dranetz-BMI’s new web-based permanently installed monitoring system.Dran-View can now read PQDIF files created by the InfoNodes in a Signature System network.
